THE GOLF CLUB AT DEVILS TOWER ELEVATES TRADITION AND COMMUNITY
Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Hulett, Wyoming, The Golf Club at Devils Tower is a testament to the Neiman family’s vision and Hulett’s community spirit. General Manager Kelvin Johnson has led the club’s operations since April 2021, cultivating a welcoming environment that honors its rich history and traditions.
Initially created as a recreational space for the Neiman family’s local sawmill employees, the club’s vision expanded with the guidance of Landscapes Unlimited. The transformation from the original 9-hole golf course into an 18-hole, Par 72 course was further enhanced when a new clubhouse was built in 2019.
The Neiman’s commitment to the community extends beyond golf. They generously built and donated an airport atop the property, enhancing the accessibility of the town and the club. A steakhouse featuring a historic bar from 1895 provides a cherished dining option in a town with few such amenities, offering both relaxation and culinary delight.
The club offers a variety of membership options—from corporate memberships with up to 20 designees to individual memberships—and is a destination for leisure and business retreats. The golf course operates from April 15 to the end of October, while the steakhouse extends its services into the hunting season in November and December. This seasonal approach allows the club to host events, banquets, and fundraisers, bringing together communities from Wyoming and South Dakota.
Kelvin Johnson, who moved from South Florida and grew up in Wisconsin, brings a unique perspective to the club. His journey to Wyoming and subsequent integration into the community underscore the allure of the area’s outdoor recreation and rich history. Johnson lives in Spearfish, South Dakota and enjoys exploring the small towns and natural beauty surrounding the club.
Johnson views the club’s partnership with Range for high-speed internet as transformative, highlighting Range’s exceptional customer service that significantly enhances the internet’s value. The recent installation of fiber to the main clubhouse has greatly improved connectivity. Johnson worked closely with Business Solutions Specialists Tobi Johansen, Chris Donnelly and Range’s Customer Experience team to implement a robust 3CX phone system and camera system, providing the essential technological infrastructure that supports the club’s operations.
As The Golf Club at Devils Tower continues to expand, it remains committed to instilling a love for golf in future generations. Under Kelvin’s leadership and the Neiman family’s enduring vision, the club stands as a beacon of community, recreation, and tradition in the heart of Wyoming.
