Nestled in the heart of Sheridan, The Sheridan Press proudly wears the badge as one of the area’s oldest businesses, tracing its roots back to 1946. As the only remaining daily newspaper in Wyoming, it’s weathered the winds of change and emerged as a dynamic media outlet. Evolving beyond its traditional print origins, it now thrives as a multifaceted entity, reaching audiences through several different media channels. The paper recently clinched the title of Best Newspaper in Wyoming by the Wyoming Press Association, triumphing over larger counterparts in Casper, Laramie, and Cheyenne.
In August 2023, the Sheridan community welcomed Bryce Jacobson as he assumed the role of Editor at The Sheridan Press. Bryce is not only the driving force behind The Sheridan Press, he also serves as the Chief Revenue Officer for Seaton Publishing with an impressive lineup of 10 newspapers and nine radio stations. His passion for journalism was ignited at a young age by his first job as a paperboy, and he’s continued to fuel his dedication to delivering news with integrity and vitality.
When asked about his favorite article, he recounted the recent feature on local artist Taylor Gourley, whose creative process involves crafting stunning framed art pieces from butterfly pieces, stones, and other eclectic materials. Bryce’s excitement wasn’t only about the beauty of Taylor’s work, but also the opportunity to be a part of her journey and promote her in the community.
Range proudly provides high-speed internet and a 3CX phone system to The Sheridan Press and recently took over as its managed service provider. The Sheridan Press team is thrilled with the added reassurance of having local support whenever they encounter challenges or queries. With just a quick call to Range or submission of a trouble ticket, they’re back on track and ready to conquer the rest of the workday with ease.
Bryce appreciates the support and peace of mind they get from working with Randy Hyder, MSP Manager; and Gabe Rees, Business Solutions Specialist. Bryce said, “Randy is continuously observing and looking for potential problems so he can fix issues before they happen.”
Bryce holds community involvement in high regard and delights in backing businesses that share this same mindset. The Sheridan Press actively supports community events, striving to engage in every possible way.
