Range Seeks Interested Board Trustee

The recent passing of long-time trustee George Bement of Ashland, Montana, who served as a Trustee at large, has created a vacancy on the Board of Trustees of Range Telephone Cooperative, Inc.

Range Construction CrewThe Board will appoint a new Trustee to fill the unexpired term (per Article IV, Section 6 of the Cooperative bylaws). To be considered for appointment to this position, the Board will accept applications from eligible members who qualify to fill the position of Trustee. To qualify as a trustee (per Article IV, Section 3 of the Cooperative bylaws), candidates must (a) be current members of Range Telephone, (b) must be an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Tribe or the Crow Indian Tribe, and must maintain their principal domicile within the exterior boundaries of the Northern Cheyenne or the Crow Indian Reservations, (c) no person shall be eligible who is in any way employed by, or financially interested in, a competing enterprise or a business engaged in selling communication service or supplies, or constructing or maintaining communication facilities, other than a business operating on a cooperative non-profit-basis for the purpose of furthering rural telephone or other communications service. In addition, no member will be appointed if he/she is related to a current employee of Range.

Anyone interested in being considered to fill the remaining term of George Bement should submit a letter to Range Attn: Board of Trustees, PO Box 127, Forsyth, MT 59327, along with biographical background, proof of Tribal enrollment, and your reason for wanting to become a Trustee by June 14th, 2024. The Board will consider all qualified applicants and may require the finalists to attend a Board meeting prior to their selection.
